Grayish-green, woody stems. Leaves are dark green on top and are white on the bottom, persistent, narrow, pointed and 2 to 3 cm long. Known for its spicy scent. The strong aroma of the leaves makes it a favourite choice in culinary, medicinal or other preparations.

Plant can be kept from year to year when brought indoors for winter months. Use rosemary fresh or dried. For drying, pick just befor flowers appear for a more intense taste.
