Thyme - Winter
Very small, dark green, elongated, oval leaves. Small flowers are from light purple to lilac. Multiple culinary and medicinal uses. Superior yield if cultivated on slanted, poor, rocky areas that are exposed to the sun. Tolerates dryness.
Shrub-like habit. Very dense, small leaves. If soil is too rich growth will be to rapid, the plant weakened and the taste lessened. Do not pick leaves after mid-August to allow branches to harden in preparation for winter months. Zone 3.
