Brassica oleracea gemmifera
Will produce medium sized sprouts, on a strong and erect plant. The taste will be sweeter if you harvest them after a couple of frosts.
CULTURE: Same as broccoli. Full sun or slight shade and lots of moisture are necessary. It is essential to rotate the crop. HARVEST: To help the upper sprouts develop, pinch out the tip of the plant in late summer. Pick sprouts from bottom of the stalk when they reach 2.5-3 cm in diameter. Flavour is enhanced when subjected to light frost.
